2024 WGAWP SCHOLARSHIP

The “You Betcha" Scholarship began in partnership between the Women’s Golf Association of Western Pennsylvania and the family of the late Dr. Ann Buck, a Past President of the WGAWP, as a way to provide participants in WGAWP Junior events with financial assistance for college. (The phrase "you betcha" was a favorite of Dr. Buck)  

The Scholarship Committee is pleased to offer assistance to qualified participants who have demonstrated exceptional merit, citizenship, academic achievement as well as service and commitment to the mission of the WGAWP. A $2,000 scholarship will be awarded based on the selection criteria for a maximum of 2 participants or as deemed appropriate by the Scholarship Committee.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

• Nominees must be a graduating high school senior or currently enrolled as full time students at an accredited degree program as of the fall semester of 2023
• Nominees must have participated in at least two (2) WGAWP Junior Events over the last three (3) years
• Nominees must have at least a 3.0 GPA
• Nominees must have a minimum of 15 hours of community service

EVALUATION AND AWARD

• The WGAWP will collect all applications directly from the applicant.
• The Scholarship Committee will determine up to two awardees.
• Recipients will be notified on or prior to September 1 
• Each application will be reviewed and scored by multiple judges.
