In 1967, the Women's Golf Association of Western Pennsylvania held a meeting at the Pittsburgh Athletic Association with local golf club professionals and their representatives with the intent to formally organize junior golf programs in our area. The Women's Golf Association of Western Pennsylvania Junior Golf Program had its inception at this very meeting. Shortly thereafter, in July that year, the Hill Crest Country Club hosted our first annual Junior Girls Championship.
From this early beginning, the WGAWP has continued the mission to promote the spirit of golf for local junior girls. Our Junior Golf Program, comprised of three trophy tournaments, and an instructional golf clinic, mentors young junior girls and encourages them to experience competitive sportsmanship while playing and enjoying the great game of golf.
Use this link to submit a form if you would like to play in the Junior/Member Better Ball and you do not have a partner! We will help you find one!
The WGAWP is committed to promoting the spirit of the game of golf among local junior girls by fostering inclusivity and opportunity for all. As part of this mission, we are dedicated to ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent any girl from participating. If the cost of entry poses a challenge, we encourage you to fill out this form, and our organization, with the generous support of our partners and donors, will cover the fee based on need. We believe every girl deserves the chance to experience the joy and growth that golf offers.
All events will be played in accordance with the Rules of Golf and Decisions adopted January 1, 2023 by the USGA. The WGAWP Junior Committee will conduct all Junior competition and establish local rules.
