Responsibilities of Members

INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION

ELIGIBILITY - Any amateur golfer, female at birth, who holds a full golfing membership at a member club is eligible to join provided she has a handicap index which conforms to the requirements set forth by the Executive Board.

The 2024 membership dues are $120.00. An additional enrollment fee of $15.00 is necessary for all new applications and reinstatements.  A late fee of $15.00 is assessed for renewals after March 1.

At any time during the year should a member give up or lose her golfing privileges at a member club (even temporarily), she MUST relinquish her membership privileges in the Association by notifying her Club Delegate. The Delegate will notify the WGAWP of any changes in a member's status.

RESPONSIBLITIES OF MEMBERS

  1. Membership in the WGAWP is an earned privilege and reflects the members’ interest and respect for the game of golf and golf competitions.  WGAWP members are expected to uphold the highest standards of golf etiquette and personal behavior that reflects well on our Association.  Members treat their fellow competitors with respect.  Members are guests at the member clubs and demonstrate courtesy and respect for club personnel.  Conduct of any member deemed inappropriate by the Tournament Committee or the WGAWP Executive Board or failure by any member to comply with the decisions and/or directives of the Tournament Committee may result in suspension of playing privileges for the remainder of the season or other punitive actions in accordance with the WGAWP By-laws.
  2. Our member clubs have dress codes.  All WGAWP members and other participants, including juniors and mixed partners, wear only suitable golf attire.  No jeans, denim, short shorts, or abbreviated tops are appropriate.  Tournament officials enforce the dress code.  For mixed events, Jackets and/or ties may be required for dinner.
  3. Member clubs have extended the privileges of the golf course and clubhouse for the day’s event.  Competitors are expected to have lunch or dinner at the club and are financially responsible for the meal.   Members are not to linger inappropriately after the event.
  4. Members who plan to attend the Annual Spring or Fall Meeting may elect to have lunch.  Cancellations for luncheon reservations must be made at least two days prior to the scheduled meeting or the member is financially responsible for the luncheon.
  5. The current WGAWP membership bag tag is to be prominently displayed on member’s golf bags at all WGAWP golf events.  Contact the Handicap Chairman for replacement of lost bag tags.
  6. Golfers who participate in a tournament held under the auspices of the Association do so at their own risk.  The Tournament Committee and the Association shall be relieved individually and collectively of all responsibility for any danger or injury sustained by competitors during any tournament or any property damage caused by a member.
