"Play today---Post today"

The World Handicap System, conceived in 2011, strives to engage more golfers and promote equity worldwide by uniting the six golf handicapping organizations around the world.  The result will be a handicap that more accurately reflects a golfer's true playing ability that relies on timely posting of scores and daily revisions of handicaps.

1.  Your handicap index might change but will also be more responsive to your good scores as your eight best scores will be averaged rather than the recent method of using 10 best scores with a .96 multiplier

2.  Your course handicap will now be a number that represents the number of strokes that you need to play to par.  Your target score each day will be par plus your Course Handicap

3.  Net Double Bogey will be the maximum hole score for posting purposes and is more consistent from hole to hole than the Equitable Stroke Control procedure previously used.  The calculation is simple: Par + 2 + any handicap strokes received on a hole.

4.  Your Handicap Index will be revised daily.  Players should post scores within 24 hours.  Update your GHIN mobile app to make this easy!

5.  The new system will safeguard against extreme movement of the handicap index.  Exceptions to scores of at least 7 strokes and abnormal weather or course conditions will help maintain accuracy and integrity of a players index

All you need to do is to know your handicap index (look up at your club or on your GHIN app) and post your scores within 24 hours!
