Juniors

JUNIOR PROGRAM HISTORY

In 1967, the Women's Golf Association of Western Pennsylvania held a meeting at the Pittsburgh Athletic Association with local golf club professionals and their representatives with the intent to formally organize junior golf programs in our area. The Women's Golf Association of Western Pennsylvania Junior Golf Program had it's inception at this very meeting. Shortly thereafter, in July that year, the HillCrest Country Club hosted our first annual Junior Girls Championship.

From this early beginning, the WGAWP has continued the mission to promote the spirit of golf for local junior girls. Our Junior Golf Program, comprised of three trophy tournaments, and an instructional golf clinic, mentors young junior girls and encourages them to experience competitive sportsmanship while playing and enjoying the great game of golf.
