WGAWP has a new home!

The Western Pennsylvania Golf Association and the Women’s Golf Association of Western Pennsylvania have signed a management services agreement to better service the game of golf. The partnership will enhance the golfer experience for members of each golf association.

The agreement went into effect on October 1, 2016.

The WPGA headquarters in Pittsburgh will now also be the official office of WGAWP. The WPGA will continue to provide full championship administration support and assistance in the conduct of WGAWP Championships, provide phone support and voice mail access, and preserve the WGAWP’s historical records.

“We’ve had a lengthy and storied relationship with the Women’s Golf Association,” Terry Teasdale, WPGA Executive Director, said. “We share a common mission of serving the game in our region, and we’re very excited to strengthen this relationship and further engage with our collective memberships.”

Volunteers from the Women’s Golf Association will also continue to assist the West Penn Golf Association in the conduct of its 17 championships.

“The Women’s Golf Association of Western PA is very pleased to have formalized and strengthened our partnership with the West Penn Golf Association,” Corinne Lacich, WGAWP President, said. “We are finding more opportunities to share resources and expertise for the good of the game.”

The WGAWP now has a permanent office space, a mailing address and phone at the West Penn Facilities.

The Western Pennsylvania Golf Association was founded in 1899, and the Women’s Golf Association of Western Pennsylvania was founded in 1922. Both were founded to serve the game of golf in Western Pennsylvania.
