Womens Golf Association of Western Pennsylvania

Barbara Russell, longtime member of Edgewood Country Club and a past president of the Women's Golf Association of Western Pennsylvania, has been presented with the Bill Mac award for 2015.  It was a surprise to all when Tim Fitzgerald, president of the West Penn Golf Association, honored Barb at the annual spring meeting of the WGAWP Executive Board and general membership held at The Club at Nevillewood.

The award is named after the late Bill Mackowick (Willowbrook), a most loyal volunteer, who served for several years as a WPGA starter and score board calligrapher. The Bill Mac award recognizes outstanding volunteer service to the organization.  Barb serves West Penn on their course rating and handicapping committees.  In addition, Barb is the Co-Chair of the Course Rating committee for Western and also serves on its By-Law committee.

Russell is the first woman to receive the honor, selected by representatives of the West Penn membership committee and past Bill Mac award winners.
