Womens Golf Association of Western Pennsylvania

The 2014 annual Fall Meeting was conducted at South Hills Country Club on Wednesday October 1. President Mary Beth Morrissey presided over the business meeting of the membership.  Annual reports for Juniors, Team Play, Open Days, Tournaments and Handicap and Rules were presented by officers and directors of the Executive Board.  Committee reports, given by their respective chairman, were also heard.

Newly-elected members of the Executive Board, Christine Haythorne (Director) and Lisa Popovich (Recording Secretary) were recognized and received their pins.  Lesley Thomas and Sheila Kassel ended their two-year terms and received their retirement pins.

Past President Barbara Russell was on hand to present the Virginia Frew Wright Player of the Year award to Danielle Proctor (her third consecutive honor).  A work emergency kept Danielle from the meeting but Kat Katawczik graciously accepted the award for her friend and teammate.

Prizes from the following trophy events were distributed:  Seniors and Super Seniors, Tag Hill, Munroe-Boschert and Barnes Murphy.  

This year, we bid goodbye to Marlene Wandrisco, our longtime Tournament Administrator who retired after 21 years of service to the Women's Golf Association of Western Pennsylvania.  Marlene received a plaque with the WGAWP logo and signatures of the presidents for whom she worked.  We will certainly miss her smiling face behind the registration desk next season.  Best wishes to Marlene!
