On Tuesday July 30, Ligonier Country Club hosted the 44th Annual Junior Championship.
It was a perfect golf day... 70's,  partly sunny and DRY!  Seventeen girls competed and it was a wonderful mix of young ladies.
The Junior Champion for the 2nd year in a row was Joey Walz. Joey is a 16 year old who shot a 73.  The Runner up in the Junior division was 15 year old Gillian Alexander who carded a 76.
In the Senior Divison the winner of the Ruth Robshaw Trophy was Ann Colligan.  This will be Ann's last year with us since she will be a college senior. She shot a one-over round of 72.
The Runner up in the Senior Division was Mia Barchetti with an 80.

The Low net for the day was a new player to the Western events, Ally Ayoob, shot a net 61!

We had a number of higher handicap players join us and they enjoyed the play as well. This was the first 18 hole event for some of the girls and they all did great. They all managed to finish with big smiles and lots of laughs.

Ligonier provided a great lunch and Head Pro John Klinchock, general manager Bill Elliott, Assistant Manager Bobby Jo Farrell, Alternate Delegate Melane Baraniack and Delegate Judi Dyer all helped to make the event a great success.
Special thanks to Eleanor Craig and Sally Sheerer for their assistance. They helped make the event run smoothly.

Congratulations to all of the winners and all of the players who competed.
