Glenmoor Country Club in Canton Ohio will serve as the site for the much-anticipated Spring Two-Day golf event on June 10 and 11.  The outing is a 36-hole stroke play event that offers the second Virginia Frew Wright Player-of-the-Year points.

The facility and grounds have an interesting history, serving as seminary high school for boys preparing for the Catholic priesthood.  The classic Gothic building was the site for the instruction and housing when the school opened in 1931. The ornate edifice built of local brick, tile, stone and steel was a boon to the Depression-era economy in northeast Ohio.  Enrollment experienced a steady decline from its peak in 1964 and the school finally closed in 1985 and was put up for sale.

Purchased in 1989 by Iris and Bert Wolstein and renovated over the course of two years, the facility evolved into a world-class spa and executive retreat with fitness facilities, racquetsports and swimming pool.

On July 1, 1992, the Jack Nicklaus signature course opened and transformed the 400 acres of natural ponds, wetlands and towering oak and elm trees into a 7,000 yard challenge to golfers of all abilities.

The main clubhouse opened the following year showcasing the beautifully refinshed tile floors and high stone archways of the former schoolhouse. The Bertram Inn provides on-site accomodations with updated decor and modern amenities.
