Sets New Course Record

The temperatures weren't the only thing to sizzle during the three-day WGAWP Championship at Edgewood Country Club.

Ligonier's Katie Miller shot an even-par 72 on the first day of play to hold off Butler's Jane Wymer and win the Bobby Cruickshank Qualifying Tournament.

A record heat index couldn't slow Miller as she saved the real fireworks for the second day of play.  Her 3-under par 69 established a new course record for women at Edgewood and began to put the tournament out of reach for the other competitors.

On the third and final day of play, Miller posted another 69 and claimed the WGAWP championship shooting a 54-hole total 210.  Jane Wymer's 235 was good for second, edging Treesdale's Laura Hilger by a single shot.
