If at any time during the year should a member give up or lose her golfing privileges at a member club (even temporarily), she must relinquish her membership privileges in the Association by notifying her club delegate.  The delegate will notify the Board of any changes in a member's status.

b_CST2012WorldAmateurCaptain   Far Hills, N.J. – The United States Golf Association named past USGA President Jim Vernon, of Pasadena, Calif., and renowned career amateur Carol Semple Thompson, of Sewickley, Pa., as captains of the men’s and women’s USA Teams for the 2012 World Amateur Team Championships, to be played Sept. 27-30 (women) and Oct. 4-7 (men) in Antalya, Turkey.
 

Semple Thompson, 63, is one of the most decorated female golfers in amateur history and was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2008. A seven-time individual USGA champion, Semple Thompson’s victories include the 1973 Women’s Amateur title and four consecutive Senior Women’s Amateur titles in 1999-2002. She represented the United States a record 12 times at the Curtis Cup Match (1974-76, 1980-82, 1988-2002), and led the team to victory as captain in 2006 and 2008.

She also competed at the Women’s World Amateur Team Championship in 1974, 1980, 1988, 1992 and 1994, and becomes the second past WWATC competitor to captain the team. (Barbara McIntire competed on the inaugural team in 1964 and served as captain in 1998.)
