- Scores to be used: RULES OF GOLF
All scores during the ACTIVE SEASON when a player plays 13 or more holes or by combining the scores of two nine-hole rounds must be used. Scores in both match play and stroke play, including those made in multi-ball competitions, must be used.
UNFINISHED HOLES - If a player starts but does not complete a hole, she must record for handicap purposes the score she most likely would have made if the hole had been completed, but such scores must not exceed the limit in the Equitable Strke Control procedure. There is no limit to the number of unfinished holes in a round provided that incompletion is not for the purpose of controlling the handicap.
UNPLAYED HOLES - If 13 or more holes are played, the player must post an 18-hole score. If 7 to 12 holes are played, the player must post a 9-hole score. In either case, scores for unplayed holes must be recorded as par plus any handicap strokes that the player is entitled to receive on the unplayed holes. When a "mulligan" is played, that hole is considered to be an unplayed hole.
Members are required to post all vacation and tournament scores from rounds played on USGA member courses where an ACTIVE SEASON is in effect. The appropriate Course Rating and Slope must be included.
- Tournament scores will be entered for handicapping purposes marked with a "T". A "tournament score" is a score made in a competition organized and conducted by a committee in charge of the competition The competition must identify a winner(s) based on a stipulated round(s), and must be played under the Rules of Golf. Using this definition the Committee in charge of the competition shall determine in advance whether these conditions are met and announce whether the score(s) shall be identified with the letter "T" when posted. Routine events, such as regular play days, are not to be designated as "T" scores. Trophy and annual events are considered "T" scores. In the case of exceptional tournament scores, indexes will be reduced using the USGA formula and this reduced index will be used for all competition while in effect.
- Handicap indexes computed on January 1 through June 1 will be used for tournaments only and will not affect team line-ups.
- An ACTIVE SEASON has been declared for the local area from April 1 to and including October 31.
- WGAWP will issue the final handiap index computation on scores submitted through October 31.
